Paragliding holidays and expeditions are organised regularly to suit demand and pilot abilities. To date I have run over 50 Paragliding Holidays in France, Spain, Brazil and the Himalayas. Holidays may be arranged at short notice when a group of pilots get the urge to fast track their progress in sunnier climes, quite an easy option with the power of last minute internet booking of flights etc and improving long range weather forecasting. However, some trips are becoming an institution and are not to be missed!

September St.Andre/St.Hilaire

A great way to end the summer flying season, 10 days at one of the most famous cross-country sites in Europe, followed by the huge party that is the Coupe Icare Free Flying Festival at St.Hilaire. The Paragliding at St.Andre will suit all levels of pilot from Cp to XC. Low airtime pilots will enjoy a 3000ft fly down in the mornings and pleasant soaring in the red glow of the evening sun. Cross country pilots will be guided on routes around the mountains up to 100km, hopefully landing back at the bar next to the campsite!

Fly with huge Vultures playing above by surfing your paraglider at 15,000ft+ with the most spectacular mountains in the World forming the back drop. Experienced Pilots only, ring Steve for details.

Lanzarote December/January

A traditional Winter flying destination with a selection of spectacular sites, cheap flights and accommodation and a huge range of nightlife options. The scenery ranges from stark volcanic lava fields to spectacular cliffs and quaint mountain villages. Away from the noisy tourist hotspots there are quiet local fish restaurants and deserted beaches. Water sports are well catered for, particularly wind and kite surfing. Something for everyone and not too busy yet still 20 to 25 degrees. The flying is thermodynamic soaring to a cloubase of about 3000ft with the cross country potential to fly the length of the Island (50km). Not for absolute beginners.

Brazil Feb/March

Another great way to escape the uk winter and enjoy gentle thermals and exotic culture in the southern hemisphere. Governor Valadares has slowly developed over the last decade as a favourite with many international pilots seeking a truly different holiday and the legendary hospitality of the Brazilian people. Cross country flights of 150km plus are possible, with pilots with no prior XC experience often being guided to flights of 60km or more in their Tee-shirts! It is feasible to combine the trip with a visit to the famous Madi-Gras festival in Rio de Janeiro. Ring Steve for details.
