How to learn Paragliding

Having booked a course start day you phone that morning for a weather check and to learn which site we will meeting at.

After a brief introductory talk and a little paperwork we move to the hill to begin the practical training. Here you will be shown what a paraglider is and how it works, introduced to the theory of flying meteorology, taught some safety rules and basic aerodynamics, (nothing to be frightened of), then we put it all together, at first on the ground, then gradually into the air. Conditions permitting, you will be flying by the end of the first day.

We run a day course for a 'taster' and aptitude assessment, a four day full course to Elementary Pilot level, and an extended course to Club Pilot. After a few days you may purchase your own glider from our carefully selected range.

The Club Pilot course teaches you to soar and gives you the confidence to fly anywhere under the guidance of the sporting club coaches. These clubs have negotiated access to hundreds of prime flying sites and cost about £20 per year to join. When you have gained more experience you may wish to try flying abroad on a guided holiday to learn the advanced techniques of themalling and cross country flights in big terrain, maybe ultimately in the Himalayas!

Advanced training is available during cross country Paragliding Holidays in Spain, Brazil, the Himalayas and the Alps (details on request).

Above all we fly to enjoy ourselves. Come and have some fun!
